Usually I blog about the senior portraits in the order the senior portrait sessions occur, but if you couldn’t tell so far, for the 2015 seniors I decided to post them in alphabetical order. No real reason! Anyway, next up is Charlie, another Cary Academy high school senior in the class of 2015 that was extremely comfortable in front of the camera. We took Charlie’s senior portraits at Prestonwood Golf Club in Cary, which makes for a fantastic backdrop for any kind of portraits, especially senior portraits! Charlie didn’t need much time adjusting to being in front of the camera which led us to create some great senior portraits for him and his family.

The 2015 senior portrait class was filled with siblings from previous years of photographing high school seniors and Casey is included in that group! Casey’s older sister was one of the first high school seniors that trusted me to take her senior portraits! While I know it wasn’t Casey’s favorite thing to do, he did take some great senior portraits. He is a really good baseball player and I think the confidence from playing baseball shows through in his portraits! Not too long after taking his senior portraits, I saw Casey sporting an awesome mohawk and while I understand that mom probably wouldn’t have been too happy, part of me wished he had done so before the senior session! Of course I’m only half serious!!

Caroline is the younger sister of previous high school senior I took portraits of a few years back. When I took her brother’s senior portraits, he had an arm injury that led us to hide one of his arms for the entire senior session and then we had another senior portrait session in the Fall. For Caroline, we didn’t know at the time of the session, but it turns out she had a concussion not too long before her senior portraits and while mom knew she wasn’t 100%, didn’t know why! It wasn’t until afterwards we found out about the concussion, which makes her great senior portraits even more impressive! So, I think this family might want to not schedule portrait sessions with me too far in advance anymore, but we still had a great senior portrait session!

When guys have their senior portraits, I always think back to my own senior portrait and how uncomfortable and awkward I was, thankfully Chase was probably just the opposite, cool and confident during his senior portrait session. Kelly had an awesome senior portrait session in Raleigh. Kelly wanted to take her senior portraits at her favorite park in Raleigh. I’m always happy when the seniors have a favorite location in mind for senior portraits. Not only does it let me explore Raleigh a little more but the seniors always feel a little more comfortable getting their photos taken in a familiar place. That being said, Kelly was very comfortable in front of the camera and probably would have been taking her senior portraits anywhere! Great job Kelly!

Having spent the last few years photographing sports at Cary Academy, I’ve seen Jared play basketball quite a few times, so I thought it was great that Jared wanted to have his senior portrait session in the gym. We also took a few senior portraits around Cary Academy so that it wasn’t only basketball senior portraits. Another great senior portrait session in Cary!

Raleigh and Cary Senior Portrait Photographer | Zach

We were all set for a deluxe senior portrait session in Raleigh and then at the track in Cary… Until we realized there were no lines on the track because it needed to be repainted! As much as I like to think I am a photoshop expert, photoshopping the lines on a track is not something I’m sure I could do and even if I could, not something I would enjoy! Zach and his family were great being flexible to have the first hour of the senior portrait session in Raleigh and scheduling the second part of the senior portrait session in Cary at a later date. This worked out perfectly and gave Zach an opportunity to wear some fall clothes that would have been too hot for the senior portraits in the summer!

Apex Senior Portraits | Anna

Anna’s senior portrait session was at a vintage gas station in Apex, a great location that offered a unique atmosphere for her senior portraits. Anna was kind enough to let her brother hop in a few portraits and we also got a few cute dog portraits! Anna picked a great location and did a great job during her senior portrait session. 2013 Cary Senior Portrait | John

Where did 2012 go? The last year was a great, record breaking year for Evan Pike Photography, but the last quarter of the year filled my schedule with portrait sessions, NCAA football and basketball games, NFL games and I was probably one of the only Carolina Hurricanes hockey fans that was actually a little happy that Raleigh’s pro hockey team and the NHL were locked out as I needed a little break (VERY happy to start NHL games soon though)! Something had to give, and unfortunately, it was my blog posts. In 2012, I photographed almost 100 seniors in Cary, Raleigh and Apex for their senior portraits and thought it would be nice if I blogged about some of them before they all graduated in a few months!

First up, John. As you can probably guess, this senior is a golfer! As I’m writing this post, it is snowing outside, but I don’t miss the heat and humidity we had that hot August day in Cary! It was great idea to take John’s portrait’s on the golf course, where he felt at home.

After so much trouble with weather in Cary and Raleigh for my previous 2013 high school senior portrait sessions, even though there was only a 10% chance of rain, I was sure we woud have trouble with the weather for Elizabeth’s senior portraits. Luckily, after some senior portraits in the studio, the only rain we got was during the drive from Cary to Raleigh to finish the on location senior portraits! Glad it worked out that way, Elizabeth did a great job during her senior portrait session and we came away with some beautiful senior portraits.

2013 Raleigh Senior Portrait Photographer | Chloe

Chloe and I set the record for the most times having to reschedule her senior portrait session because of the weather in Cary and Raleigh! Her senior portrait session must have gotten rained out 5 times! Thanks for being so flexible Chloe! Being patient for the senior portraits was certainly worth it as we came away with some great senior portraits in Cary and Raleigh. We started out with a few portraits in my studio in Cary and while most of my senior portraits are more nature based, Chloe wanted to have her senior portrait session downtown and using some graffiti wall, so that is what we did! Great job Chloe, your photos rock!
