Katherina had a great senior portrait session at the beautiful N.C. State Arboretum in Raleigh. After only a few minutes of shooting, she was the perfect model, and we even ended up staying longer than originally planned because we were all having so much fun with her senior portraits! For senior portrait sessions, I usually suggest that seniors bring along mom or another close family member to help with outfits and to hold the iPad to instantly see the photos I’m taking…. But because his mom was traveling internationally, he decided to rock his senior portrait session on his own, and he did a great job! Kelly had an awesome senior portrait session in Raleigh. Kelly wanted to take her senior portraits at her favorite park in Raleigh. I’m always happy when the seniors have a favorite location in mind for senior portraits. Not only does it let me explore Raleigh a little more but the seniors always feel a little more comfortable getting their photos taken in a familiar place. That being said, Kelly was very comfortable in front of the camera and probably would have been taking her senior portraits anywhere! Great job Kelly!

We were all set for a deluxe senior portrait session in Raleigh and then at the track in Cary… Until we realized there were no lines on the track because it needed to be repainted! As much as I like to think I am a photoshop expert, photoshopping the lines on a track is not something I’m sure I could do and even if I could, not something I would enjoy! Zach and his family were great being flexible to have the first hour of the senior portrait session in Raleigh and scheduling the second part of the senior portrait session in Cary at a later date. This worked out perfectly and gave Zach an opportunity to wear some fall clothes that would have been too hot for the senior portraits in the summer!

After so much trouble with weather in Cary and Raleigh for my previous 2013 high school senior portrait sessions, even though there was only a 10% chance of rain, I was sure we woud have trouble with the weather for Elizabeth’s senior portraits. Luckily, after some senior portraits in the studio, the only rain we got was during the drive from Cary to Raleigh to finish the on location senior portraits! Glad it worked out that way, Elizabeth did a great job during her senior portrait session and we came away with some beautiful senior portraits.

Chloe and I set the record for the most times having to reschedule her senior portrait session because of the weather in Cary and Raleigh! Her senior portrait session must have gotten rained out 5 times! Thanks for being so flexible Chloe! Being patient for the senior portraits was certainly worth it as we came away with some great senior portraits in Cary and Raleigh. We started out with a few portraits in my studio in Cary and while most of my senior portraits are more nature based, Chloe wanted to have her senior portrait session downtown and using some graffiti wall, so that is what we did! Great job Chloe, your photos rock!

Even though the weather had other plans for my 2013 high school senior portrait sessions, I was finally able to photograph my first high school senior of the class of 2013! Between Kjersti and my other few seniors scheduled in May, I had to reschedule about 9 senior portrait session because of the weather! No problem though and ended up with a perfect day, much cooler than when I photographed her sister a few years ago when she was a senior, for senior portrait photography. Kjersti is a wonderful dancer and her beauty and gracefulness surely showed through in her photo session! After growing up with my sister dancing, I’ve always found it interesting how dancers, even when they are just walking, seem to have no wasted movements and look so graceful even when they are just walking! It was a perfect portrait session to start out my 2013 high school senior portrait sessions and I could say more, but theses senior portraits say it for me!

I was excited to be Noah’s senior portrait photographer after hearing what he wanted to do. I love photographing seniors on location but was looking forward to having part of his senior portrait in the studio and part on the baseball field. I knew we would come away with some awesome photos for his senior portraits…. Which we did and I gotta be a little more artistic than normal which is always fun!
